The Angel Band Project Checks In!

The Angel Band Project Checks In!

The weather in St. Louis is changing from cool to cold; the leaves are changing color and falling at our feet. Soon, it will be winter and we will be clutching at coffee mugs and burrowing away in our houses, trying to stay warm. We’re used to these changes and welcome them in each and every year. We look forward to the seasons shifting because we know what to expect. This year however, is different. We can all look forward to something unexpected but just as exciting. The Angel Band Project has undergone many changes alongside the changing temperatures and with those changes comes a new and improved website and blog. So, grab a cup of your favorite coffee, in your favorite holiday mug and get ready to see all that Angel Band Project has in store for the upcoming season! First of all, we have just moved to an office space in the center of one of the most vibrant areas of St. Louis – The Delmar Loop. Located just above Meshuggah Cafe, it’s the perfect spot for those cold, wintery days. We are in the process of remodeling and redecorating to make this office really our own. We couldn’t be more excited to get to work. Not only do we have a new website, blog and office but we also have a couple of events coming up that we can’t stop talking about. The first one is just a couple of weeks away. One Voice Virtual Choir – which will support new music therapy programs for clients of Safe Connections, St. Martha’s Hall and YWCA St. Louis....

Jumping To Heal

Jumping To Heal

On August 22, rape survivor and advocate Natasha Repass will bravely take to the skies as part of her “Chute to Heal” fundraiser for Angel Band Project. Six years ago, Natasha was beaten and raped at knife point by a stranger while she was walking home from work. She decided thereafter to commemorate the day that she was attacked — August 22, 2008 — by providing acts of kindness instead of remembering that horrific night and dwelling on it. As she said, “Helping others was healing for me.” She had to endure two trials to finally see her attacker brought to justice. “After going through two trials myself, I was able to help give support and guidance to those getting ready to go through their trials. I wanted to do something to take back my day.” Last year, Natasha created over 200 flowers out of buttons and attached inspirational quotes to them. She spent the day passing them out to people in New York City who “looked like they needed a little extra kindness. Or to people who I saw do a random act of kindness.” This year, she will continue her good will by skydiving along with a group of friends and supporters in Lebanon, Maine. On August 22, they will gather together to raise funds for the Angel Band Project. You can donate to her fundraiser here! http://proxy.bellstrike.com/members/rachel-ebeling/chute-to-heal IF YOU EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR CHECKOUT PROCESS AND ARE HAVING TROUBLE DONATING ONLINE, PLEASE EMAIL US AT: RACHEL.EBELING@ANGELBANDPROJECT.ORG.
